BTS, 40대 엄마의 아이 눈높이 공부

최근 지민의 솔로 앨범이 나오면서 다시 BTS의 개미지옥에 빠졌다.

40대 아줌마인 내가 BTS를 알게 된 건 순전히 첫애를 이해하고자 하는 마음에서였다. 우리 아이가 초등학교 5학년 때니까   2018년이었던 걸로 기억된다.  애교도 많고 엄마에게 미주알고주알 다 이야기해 주던 애가 갑자기 찬바람이 불고 과묵해지면서 낯선 애가 되어갔다. 용돈을 모아 BTS의 앨범을 사고 굿즈를 사더니 브로마이드로 방을 꾸몄다.  게다가 옷 컬러를 고를 때 검정 아니면 보라였다. 아이와 대화거리를 찾아야 했고 아이의 마음을 이해하고자 BTS를 공부했다. 이후로 BTS를 주제로 대화도 하고 엄마 생일에 엄마의 최애인 진의 캐릭터가 담긴 삼색 볼펜을 선물해주기도 했다.

RM : 명석한 두뇌와 <문제적 남자>에서 시인과 대적할 정도의 문학적 센스를 가진 엘리트.  딸을 갖은  엄마 입장에서 가장 사위 삼고 싶은 든든한 팀의 리더다.

진 : 나의 최애다. BTS에서 다른 멤버들의 춤이나 보컬 등을 따라가려고 무척 애쓰는 모습과  타고난 선한상의 잘생김으로 특히 응원해 주고 싶은 멤버이다. 이름 끝이 같아서 남편이 나를 평소 찐이라 부르는데 이런 공통점에서 최애가 된 거 같다.

제이홉 : 2020년 MMA, 그의 존재감이 폭발했던 마이클 잭슨 댄스 브레이크보다도 개인적으로 드레이크 노래 In my feelings의 keke 챌린지에서 보여준 그의 춤을 너무나 좋아해서 아직도 그 영상을 돌려본다. 비록 짧은 순간이지만 그의 클래스를 알 수 있다. 밝은 기운, 보는 내내 웃음 짓게 하는 행복 바이러스다. 술을 마시면 바람 빠진 풍선처럼 힘이 쭉 빠지는 것도 반전매력으로 귀엽고 왠지 나이를 많이 먹어도 가장 소년미를 가지고 있을 것 같다.


슈가 : 아이유와 협업했던 <에잇> 곡을 무척 좋아한다.
시크함이 매력이다. 화가 많았던 시절을 지나 점점 모서리 각이 둥글해지고 있다고 하는데 그럼 왠지 슈가가 낯설어질 것만 같다. 슈가를 생각하면 달달한 맛이 아니라 반어적 이게도 아이돌에서 막 내뱉었던 니들이 머라 지껄이든지란 쓴맛이 떠오른다.

지민 :  내 절친의 최애이다. 요즘 솔로곡이 너무 좋다.  like crazy는 절친이 좋아하는 곡이고 난 set me free가 좋다. 요즘 라이브 이슈가 있던데 좀 안타까운 게 음악에 대해 잘 모르는 내가 듣기에도 지민의 라이브는 그동안 늘 감탄이었고 안정감과 그 음색은 그냥 독보적이었다. 특히 무용을 해서인지 춤선이 예술이고 마치 고상한 현대무용을 보고 있는 듯하다. 춤과 보컬 대한민국 원탑 같다.
개인적으로 지역혐오가 존재하는  대한민국에서 정치적으로 가장 선한 영향력을 줄 수 있는 인물이라고 생각한다. 조선의 영조가 떠오르는 <탕평지민>이다. 지민은 부산교육청과 전남교육청에 기부를 했다. 지민의 고향은 부산이지만 음식 잘하시는 전라도 출신 엄마를 두고 있다.

뷔 : 울 딸의 최애이다. 그러나 아쉽게도 블랙핑크 제니의 남자가 되었다. 차마 딸에게 기분이 어떠냐고 묻지는 못했다. 그러고 보니 나에게  BTS 공부를 하게 만든 원인 제공자이기도 하다.
표정의 달인이다. 얼굴 근육이 자유자재인 거 같다. 목소리가 굵어서 지민의 청아한 목소리를 잘 잡아주는 느낌이다. 세계에서 제일 잘생긴 남자 1위로 뽑히기도 했다.
유퀴즈에서 말했던 아버지와의 사연에 가슴이 찡했다. 마초같은 외모인데 은근히 여린 거 같다.

정국 : 노래를 정말 잘한다. 수줍음 많은 막내지만 BTS 거의 모든 노래에 중심을 잡아주는 거 같다.
특히 카타르 월드컵 공연은 계속 반복해서 듣고 있다. 왠지 솔로가 가장 안 어울릴 거 같은 멤버였는데 혼자서 완벽한 무대를 선보이는 걸 보고 자랑스럽기까지 했다.
아이유와 이종석 사귄다는 기사가 났을 때 왜 정국이 떠올랐는지 모르겠다. 솔직히 맘속으로 정국이 아이유와 잘 되길 바랐나 보다.

BTS는 우리 아이에게 부모인 내가 닿지 못할 곳까지 세상으로부터  보호해 줄 거라 믿고 있는 울타리다.
그리고 나에겐 샌드백이다. 세상에 대한 좌절과 분노를 그들의 음악을 들으며 풀고 있기 때문이다.

얼마 전에 지민에게 앨범 달라고 말한 군대에 있는 진. 일관되게 군대를 가겠다고 했었고 또 실천한 나의 최애 진이가 자랑스럽다. 비겁하지 않아서 진정한 상남자다.

내가 생각하는 빅뱅은 전설이었다. 특히 지드래곤은 세계를 더 크게 씹어먹어야 마땅하였다. 아직도 나는 빅뱅의 노래 <삐딱하게>, <거짓말>, <루저>, <우리 사랑하지 말아요>를 정기적으로 찾아 듣고 있다. 군대와 너무도 괴리감이 드는 지드래곤이 그리고 다른 빅뱅 멤버들이 승리의 똥물과는 별개로 칭찬받아야 할 것은 군대를 다녀왔다는 것이다.

한국사회는 입시문제와 병역기피에 굉장히 민감하다.  아마도 공정이라는 잣대를 가장 정의롭게 들이미는 곳이 군대인 거 같다. 어떤 후보는 대선에서 아들의 병역기피 의혹으로 낙선하였고 유승준이 아직도 한국 땅을 밟지 못하는 것도 병역기피 때문이다. 이런 사회적인 분위기 때문이라도 BTS가 군대에 가고 있는 것은 얼마나 다행한 일인지 모른다.

그런데 또 걱정인 것이 얼마 전에 핑계고라는 유재석이 출연하는 유튜브 채널에서 지민과 슈가가 나왔는데 그 안에 지민이 너무도 순수하게 웃으며 소년미를 보이는데 군대에서 어떻게 적응할지 걱정이 앞섰다.

Recently, Jimin's solo album came out, and I fell into BTS' ant hell again.

As an old lady in her 40s, I got to know BTS purely because I wanted to understand my first child. I remember it was 2018 because my child was in the fifth grade of elementary school. The child, who had a lot of aegyo and told her mother everything, suddenly became a stranger as the cold wind blew and became silent. She collected pocket money, bought BTS' album, bought goods, and decorated the room with a BTS' poster. In addition, it was black or purple when choosing the color of the clothes. I had to find a conversation with my child and studied BTS to understand her mind. Since then, she has talked about BTS and gave me a three-color ballpoint pen with the character of Jin, my favorite, on my birthday.

1. RM
An elite with a brilliant mind and literary sense that rivals the poet in <Problematic Men(The Brainiacs)>.  He is the leader of the team and like  every mother with a daughter,  I want him to be my son-in-law.

2. Jin
It's my favorite. He is a member of BTS with his natural good looks who tries very hard to follow other members' dances and vocals. My husband usually calls me "jin" because the end of the name is the same, so I think he became the my favorite in this same name.

3. J-Hope
I personally love his dance from the keke challenge of Drake song <In my feelings> than the Michael Jackson dance break, which exploded his presence in 2020 MMA, so I still watch the video. I can see his class even though it's a short moment. He is a happy virus that makes me smile all the time. When he drinks alcohol, he's cute to lose strength like a balloon without wind, and I think he'll have the most boyishness even when you get older.

4. Suga
I love the <8> of song that he collaborated with IU.
Chic is the charm of him. It is said that the angle of the corner is getting round after the angry days, but I think Suga will become unfamiliar. When I think of Suga, I think of the bitter taste, not the sweet taste, contrary to  of his team name reminiscent of sugar. His bitter taste comes to mind "whatever you just spit it out" in the lyrics of <Idol>

5. Jimin
He is my best friend's favorite. I really like solo songs these days. <Like crazy> is my best friend's favorite song and I like <set me free>. There is a live issue these days, and unfortunately, even for me, who is not familiar with music, Jimin's live performance has always been admirable, and his stability and tone have been unrivaled. In particular, perhaps because of dance, the dance line is art, and it seems to be watching elegant modern dance. Dance and vocal. He has  the best talents in Korea.
Personally, I think he is the person who can have the best political influence in Korea, where local hatred exists. It is <Tangpyeong Jimin>, which reminds us of King Yeongjo of Joseon. Jimin made donations to the Busan Office of Education and the Jeonnam Office of Education. Jimin's hometown is Busan, but he has a mother from Jeolla-do who is good at cooking.

6. V
This is my daughter's favorite. But unfortunately, He became the man of Jenny of BLACKPINK. I couldn't bear to ask my daughter how she felt. Come to think of him, he is also the cause provider that made me study BTS.
He's a master of facial expressions. I think his facial muscles are free. His thick voice seems to hold Jimin's pure voice well. He was selected as the most handsome man in the world. I was touched by the story between him and his father in the <You Quiz on the Block> of TV show. He has a macho appearance, but he seems to be rather soft.

7. Jungkook
He sings really well. He is the shy youngest, but I think it's the center of all the BTS songs.
In particular, I keep listening to Qatar World Cup performances over and over again. For some reason, I thought solo would not look good on him, but I was even proud to see him perform perfectly alone.
I don't know why Jungkook came to mind when there was an article about IU and Lee Jong-seok dating. Honestly, in my heart, I hope Jungkook goes well with IU.

BTS is a fence that I believe will protect my child from the world even where I cannot reach as a parent.
And for me, it's a sandbag. This is because I am relieving my frustration and anger toward the world by listening to their music.

Jin in the army who told Jimin to give him an album not too long ago. I am proud of my favorite Jin, who consistently said he would go to the army and practiced it. He is a real man because he is not cowardly.

The Big Bang I think was a legend. In particular, G-Dragon deserved to chew up the world bigger. I still regularly look up and listen to Big Bang's songs, <Crooked>, <Lies>, <Loser>, and <Let's Not Love>. G-Dragon and other Big Bang members, who are so separated from the military, should be praised separately from Seungri's poop.

Korean society is very sensitive to entrance examination problems and military service evasion. Perhaps the military is the most righteous place to put the standard of fairness. A candidate was unsuccessful in the presidential election due to allegations of his son's evasion of military service, and Yoo Seung-joon is still unable to step on Korean soil because of his evasion of military service. Even with this social atmosphere, it is fortunate that BTS is joining the military.

But what I'm worried about is how Jimin would adapt to the military when he smiled so purely and showed his boyishness on a YouTube channel by Yoo Jae-seok.
